The most important part in your adventures to www stardom is your domain name.  It’s the first step everyone must take in creating their web presence. When my friends ask where to register domains I like to recommend them to use GoDaddy.

Godaddy.com is the worlds largest and most widely used service for domain name registry.

Next we need to get you lined up with a good hosting plan. Below are some of the top hosting services offered on the net. I use Mediatemple for my hosting service, but the hosting service you choose will vary depending on your needs as a designer or developer.  However, for beginners I recommend a service like Hostgator or Dreamhost, as I have had the opportunity to see their Control Panels and for beginners it’s a no brainer! Plus, they are very affordable for people just starting out.

Hosting Services

Now that you have set yourself up with a great domain service and hosting plan it’s time to get your website up and running. Below are some great sources to help you do just that! I realize that there are places on the net that you can go and get stuff for free, but the truth is free doesn’t always produce results. The theme I am using I payed $70.00 USD for from WooThemes. It’s been every bit worth it too, and their themes are very easy to work with!
